Has been repainted. Motor not working and no decals.
Stripped and repainted into the original US Navy colours. The decals were home-made on this model.
Model #2
When it arrived it was a very sorry looking model that was thrown in with the Sea Vixen shown in the photo.
As I was already restoring one of these models to the original I thought I would use this one as a conversion.
I have a relative that used to be stationed with the RAF Rescue at RAF Valley in Wales and I have seen the Sea Kings in action a few times and was always impressed with this machine. I decided to convert it to an RAF Rescue version. (It also helped that I had some yellow paint left over from doing the Johnson road sweeper model)
The whole model was stripped, primed and reprayed in yellow.
The decals are homemade, the graphics being copied from an original airvraft based at RAF Valley with 202 Squadron.
Personally, I think this is a version that Dinky should have made instead of making the US Navy version. A lot more colourful than the US blue and white.
Model #3
